4th of July

One of my favorite things since becoming a mom is dressing the kids up festively for holidays and different milestones. I still remember the reaction on Derek’s face when I showed him the photo shoot I did of Brock in a large Easter basket full of eggs, Brock dressed only in a diaper, bow tie and bunny ears. I think his exact words were, “our poor son.” He also laughs when I’m dripping in sweat in an attempt to get all three kids to stand in place and say cheeseeeee. I know dads may never understand but to the mommas who have spent hours playing peek-a-boo behind the camera and jumping up and down alternating between clapping your hands and flashing spirit fingers, those pictures are priceless, am I right?

To be honest I started buying 4th of July outfits weeks, almost months ahead this year. With COVID and everything going on, I desperately needed a date on the calendar to look forward to and 4th of July is one of my favorites! I got the kids a few different options because I wasn’t sure exactly how we would be celebrating this year, only that we would be celebrating! Red, white, and blue is also easily worn on more than one occasion, unlike holidays like Valentine’s and St Patrick’s Day. Below I will share some of my 4th of July outfit ideas and link as much as I can for you!

Day Time

This first option is slightly dressier (to our standards, anyway) in hopes of capturing a cute family picture in. The second is more casual, perfect for a family BBQ or wearing over swimsuits. If you have twins like me, I go back and forth on dressing them identically or coordinating their outfits. I prefer coordinating but some times its just easier to get them the same thing (I fell in love with the pep hem star dress and just had to get two). The 4th is an easy Holiday to coordinate twins tho, dressing one in the blue tones, one in red tones or one in stars and one in stripes.

Feelin’ Free Tee (Billabong)

USA Tie Dye Tee (Pink Lily)

Jean Star Dress (Old Navy)

Striped Ombre Tee (Gap)

Red Sawyer Short (Cotton On)

Blue Sawyer Short (Cotton On)

Simple White Tank (Cotton On)

Muscle Tank (Cotton On)

By the Pool

I loved these swimsuits because each is coordinated but not alike, they have the red white and blue colors but don’t scream 4th of July, and they can definitely be worn more than once!

Men’s Board Short (Billabong)

Red Strawberry Swim Set (Target)

Navy Cherry Swim Set (Target)

Plaid Swim Trunks (Target)

Red, White & Blue Bikini Top (Madewell)

Night Time

When I came across these sweatshirts, I purchased them immediately. I’m in love with all the tie dye trends happening right now and I thought they would be perfect to throw on after a long day by the pool, to wear while awaiting the fireworks.

Dip Dye Pullover Hoody (Old Navy)

American Tie Dye Hoodie (Old Navy)

If you’re anything like me, I’m sure dressing up your family in coordinating outfits for Holidays is one of your favorite things too! I Hope this gave you some good ideas and most importantly, Happy 4th!
