Happy February 1st! It wouldn’t be a holiday for me without planning some sort of photo shoot so I am kicking off this month of all things love with just that. In this post I will be sharing three super simple, super affordable backdrop ideas for some fun Valentine’s Day photo shoots. Grab your Valentines, your Galentines or your little babes and try these out for yourself! Here’s everything that you will need to know.
What You'll Need
Empty Wall Space or Backdrop
Heart Shaped Paper Plates
Air Filled Heart Balloons
Floral Vase Fillers
Masking Tape (Or Painters Tape)
Adhesive Velcro Dots
1. Sweetheart Balloon Backdrop
For the first backdrop, I used conversation heart balloons for a sweet, fun vibe! I found these balloons at the 99 Cent Store and needed just two packs for this set up. I simply taped the balloons onto my backdrop using masking tape (or you can use painters tape if you are using a wall in your home) about a foot apart in all directions. I intended to use this backdrop for photos of my kids so I only set up two rows of balloons, starting at the bottom of the wall. I added some XOXO balloons on the floor as a distraction so they wouldn’t knock off the ones on the wall. Another tip for photo shoots with kids; have candy on hand, music blasting and get help if it’s available!
2. Floral Heart Backdrop
For the second backdrop, I used floral vase fillers for a cute, boho set up. I found the vase filler florals at Target. I simply used adhesive velcro dots and attached one side to all the flowers and the other side to the wall in a heart shape and then attached them. One box was enough to make half of a heart so I just went with it knowing that I would probably be blocking a good portion of it anyway. I do love how these turned out even with just half the heart, but definitely get two boxes if you want the entire heart in your photo.
3. Classic Red Heart Backdrop
Last but not least, our third back drop using heart shaped paper plates for a classic, romantic feel. I found these paper plates at Target and needed about 20 to cover the entire wall. I spaced the plates out about a foot apart in all directions and attached them to the wooden backdrop using masking tape. This is such an inexpensive option and the pictures turned out so fun!
There you have it, three simple back drop ideas for fun Valentine’s Day photos that will not break the bank! I would love to hear your favorite in the comments below! If you try these out for yourself, I would love it if you tagged me in your photos on Instagram.
