September is here, Labor Day has passed and it’s officially acceptable to get out your decorative pumpkins! Fall is definitely my favorite time of year as it’s the first indicator that the holidays are approaching. If you are in California like me, you are probably not so patiently waiting for the fall weather to kick in but there is no reason to wait on the weather to put out all the fall decor! I will be sharing how I decorated for fall along with links to items I purchased this year. Let’s get decorating!

Halloween or Thanksgiving? That is the ultimate question when decorating for fall. I definitely do not go to Halloween-y. I don’t want to feel like I have to completely redecorate after Halloween passes, so I like to keep it pretty neutral. As you probably noticed, most of my fall decor consists of pumpkins, pumpkins, and more pumpkins. Mainly because pumpkins work really well for both holidays. All additional Halloween decor I try to keep just on the porch and in my entry way. Everywhere else, dining area, kitchen, and family room, is ready for Thanksgiving. I decided to keep my cactus and succulents out this year to intermingle them with all the decorative pumpkins and I love how that gave it such a boho, fall feel. Once Halloween is over, I will simply take the bats and skeletons down and change out a few letter boards but the rest is intended to stay until the Christmas decor comes out.
