Since having kids, it is high rise or nothing when it comes to jeans. Raise your hand if you’re with me!? All the jeans in my closet weren’t fitting me right anymore so I hit the mall to find a couple staple pairs. Well here in California most dressing rooms aren’t open yet which made jean shopping an even more challenging task. After purchasing 8 pairs to try on at home, and none of them working out, I set out on a mission. I asked for your help on my Instagram and I bought a pair or two from everywhere you guys suggested, which brings us here! I tried on over 40 pairs of jeans from skinny to mom and everything in between to bring you my top 9 high waisted jean finds. Sharing my absolute favorites ranging from from high to highest rise.
Before we get started, my true size in jeans is a size 6 or size 28. I listed the size I would be for each pair so you can see if I had to size up or down or if the jeans were true to size. I also listed the length of the rise for your convenience so you can compare the jeans that way also. Now on to the jeans!
Size 27
High Rise 10”
These basically feel like jeggings but they are thick enough to hold everything in too! Perfect to wear with boots or a good front tuck look.
Size: 3
High Rise: N/A
I wanted an all black jegging type jean to wear with higher boots and these are so perfect! So stretchy and really hold you in around the waist!
Size: 28
High Rise: 10”
I’m not usually a fan of darker jeans but I loved the hem with the darker detail on these! Also love that these hit right above my ankles making them perfect to wear with high top tennies.
Size: 26
High Rise: 10 1/2”
These were super stretchy and so so comfy. Same wash as the Free People Montana Jean so I didn’t end up keeping them but still worth mentioning. Truly felt like leggings.
High Rise: 10 3/4”
Size: 28
Omg for a boot cut jean these are really comfy, they have the perfect amount of stretch in all the right places but still feel like real denim!
High Rise: 11”
Size: 28
These are very similar to the Ainsworth Wash below, however they do have knee rips and I needed one size larger for this particular wash. The 11″ rise I have found to be my ideal rise that I can wear with everything.

The rise on these are perfect and I love the structure, giving you that true jean feel without the muffin top.

High Rise: 11 1/2”
Love the rise and hidden buttons on these! Also thought it would be fun to have a full length pair in my closet!

High Rise: 12”
Basically the higher the rise the more I love them! These are so comfy and love the knee rips in these, giving them the perfect edgy look.
Size 6
High Rise: 12 1/2”
The ultimate high rise, perfect for styling bodysuits or cropped bralettes.
