The spookiest night of the year is just 2 short weeks away! Time to get those front porches ready! I’ll be honest I have never been one to go all out for Halloween BUT having kids has 1000% changed that for me. I love seeing their eyes light up for the simplest of things like a giant spider web hanging from the front of our house. One of our favorite things to do this time of year is walk around the neighborhood and look at all the spooky decor so I love being able to contribute to other little kids, “oh my gosh look mom!” moments. In this post I’ll be sharing a spooky cute tombstone DIY along with front porch inspiration and links to everything you see. Luckily most things are still available and at discounted prices so you are definitely still in luck if you haven’t decorated yet. Without further ado, let’s get into to the spooky cute outdoor Halloween decor.

Noteworthy

Pumpkins – I loved the color block trend this year inspired by Stephanie Hanna. I also sprayed some macramé cord black to add some spooky cute lettering to the fronts. And to top them off I added some simple homemade ghost tassels to the stems. If you have been following along for a while, you are probably not surprised to see a smiley face pumpkin in front of my house either! Had to! 🙂

Planters – The white skully planter was inspired by my friend Kelly! She spray painted a skull candy bowl from Walmart a chalk white and I knew I had to too. I also painted a classic jack-o-lantern candy bucket black for a second planter option on my porch.

Trick or Treat Porch Sign – This came in a solid wood and I painted it basic black and white.

*Anything you see can be customized with paint! Always keep that in mind while shopping for decor.

Spooky Cute Tombstones

WHAT YOU’LL NEED: Tombstones | Wooden Letters | Spray Paint or Acrylic Paint | Mod Podge Sealer | Wooden stakes

Step 1 – Spray paint each of your tombstones different colors. I was going for an ombre look of pinks and oranges. You can also use acrylic paint to get the color just right as there are more options with acrylics.

Step 2 – Paint your RIP letters. I went for a slightly darker shade from each tombstone.

Step 3 – Glue the RIP letters to the fronts of the tombstones. I used hot glue but I probably would have preferred E6000 glue or wood glue.

Step 4 – Spray with a sealer for protection, especially if using for outdoor decor.

To set up in the yard I hammered 5 stakes into the ground and I lean the tombstones up against them when I want them out. I like being able to take them in if the weather gets bad or if we are going to be gone for long periods of time. If you want them to be more permanent for the season, you can hammer a small nail through the front of the tombstone into the stake before hammer the stakes into the ground.

I hope you leave here with some inspiration and motivation to decorate your front yard for Halloween! As always, thank you so much for reading!
