Hello sweet, sweet summer time! This season makes me so excited for longer days in the sun and cooler nights spent with family. I definitely wanted to bring the chill vacation vibes that is Summer into my home decor to create a beachy, boho vibe. When switching up my decor for the different seasons, I will say that summer is the only season that I don’t necessarily decorate my home for a specific holiday. Winter is all about Christmas. In spring there is Easter. Fall encompasses Halloween and Thanksgiving. Of course there is 4th of July in Summer, but although a holiday I celebrate, it’s not one that I necessarily feel the need to decorate my home for. (Unless we are hosting a party, of course!) So summer decor for me is all about chill, happy, beachy vibes and I definitely think I have captured that with the few things that I have either made or bought to decorate with. In this blog I’ll be sharing some of my summer decor glow ups along with links to things I have purchased this season. Without further ado, let’s get into the summer home decor!

I was not planning on buying much summer decor because we are planning on moving at the end of this year, BUT when I went to Joanns to pick up a few vases for my summer centerpiece DIY project, all the summer decor was buy one get two free. Yes you read that right… they were practically giving it away, right?! So I did end up snagging the silver metallic coral, the seahorse statue and the silver seashell vase that I have on my floating shelves. I also fell in love with the little wooden camper birdhouse that I have displayed on my island.

I am so in love with the faux clay vase DIY that I finished recently for a fresh summer centerpiece. I used the baking soda method to paint the vases and I also made a few faux palm leaves to go in them. You can check out the full tutorial here.

Dried palm leaves and bright florals are an easy way to bring out some summer boho vibes in your home. I am in love with the ones I found at AFLORAL. The quality and colors are so so good. I have all the florals I used linked on my like to know it page, here

If you have any sort of wooden bowls or glass vases that need fillers, peaches and seashells are great for the summer. I filled a wooden bowl with faux peaches and that ended up being the perfect summer shelf filler for my kitchen shelves.

I have a few of my Target dollar spot DIYs incorporated throughout my summer decor as well and you can check those out here

I love to switch out one of the baskets on my basket feature wall to incorporate the holiday or season. For summer I found a palm leaf basket at Target and it is the perfect summer addition to my accent wall.

Most, if not all of the summer prints are from Thread Mama. She shares incredibly fun prints for every holiday and season that you could every imagine. You can get access to everything she creates for I think just $5/month. I love having this resource when switching out my decor from season to season and I also love supporting her by using her amazing creations.

I have said this in previous decor posts but another simple way to switch up the vibe of your home decor is to switch out the throw pillows. I have found that buying pillow covers is an easy way to do this so you’re not stuck with a million pillows to store. West Elm and Amazon both have great selections of pillow covers. Disclaimer – I did pick up the seashell pillow this season because come on… it was just so dang cute!

The most versatile decor pieces I have for using season to season are my letter boards. Even if these go out of style, you will still see them in my home because they are so versatile. I also love decorating my rettel roller. For now I have summer vibes on repeat but I will eventually make this into a fun summer bucket list for the kids and I. Also, this coral shell vase is summer home decor perfection.

Simple Summer DIYs

Wooden Seashell Candle

I wanted to fill some empty space on my entry table so I decided to make a seashell candle with a wooden bowl that I already had. All you will need in addition are some seashells, candle wax and candle wicks. I hot glued the candle wicks to the bottom of the wooden bowl, spaced out the seashells where I wanted them and then poured the melted wax over the seashells. If I were to do this again I would prop the seashells up a little more before pouring the wax so that they show a bit more once the wax cools and hardens.

Endless Summer Framed Decor

I found the endless summer wooden cutout at Joanns for just a few bucks, glued it to the outside of a frame I already had, and printed off one of Thread Mama’s printables to make a supper cute wooden decor piece for my entryway as well.

Hello Summer Resin Decor

For this last little project, I used resin to make a hello summer decor piece for my floating shelves. All you need is the letter mold, resin kit, white resin dye and small pieces of wood. I mixed the resin, added the white dye and poured it into the letter molds. Then I allowed the letters to cure over night before taking them out and hot glueing them to the wood to create a base. This was the perfect addition to my shelves to break up all the frames.

I hope this post has given you some inspiration for your summer home decor. Thank you so much for reading!
