If you walk into Target and head straight to the dollar section before anything else, first off, you are my girl, & second, this post is for you! I love the Target dollar section because you just never know what they are going to surprise you with & lately they have seriously been killing it! In this post I am sharing some of my recent dollar spot finds and simple ways that I have glammed them up to make them even that much better. So if you are ready, let’s get into it with six Target Dollar Spot DIYs.

Summer Vibes Pitcher

Target Dollar Spot Find: Acrylic Pitcher

I love this acrylic pitcher for both indoor but especially outdoor use. This was a rather simple DIY, just adding the Summer Vibes phrase in permanent vinyl that I cut out using my Cricut. I transferred the vinyl to the pitcher using transfer tape. One huge trial and error that I learned from this project was to transfer each phrase from the transfer tape to the pitcher one word at a time. I tried to transfer everything all at once and the curve of the pitcher did not allow for that.

My inspiration for this project came from the Summer Vibes Cat & Jack Toddler Tee at Target.

Rattan Serving Dishes

Target Dollar Spot Finds: Rattan Basket & Rattan Mirror

I have seen so many great uses for the baskets and rattan mirrors from Target but these serving dishes are definitely some of my favorites! To complete this project I picked up some of the Room Essentials dishes at Target as well. These are very inexpensive and the colors are spot on. For the first elevated serving tray I used the rattan mirror and a small Room Essentials bowl. I removed the hook from the back of the mirror with a screw driver and attached the bottom of the bowl to the center of the mirror side with E600 glue. For the elevated serving bowl, I used both the small bowl and the medium bowl in the terra cotta orange color, attaching the bottom of the small bowl to the center of the bottom of the medium bowl, again using E600 glue. Lastly, I used the rattan basket and a Room Essentials plate to make a cake stand. I turned the basket upside down and attached the plate to the bottom of the basket using the same glue. I love the three of these together as they are all great staggering heights for displaying food.

My inspiration for the cake stand came from Bonnie (@haveakidtheysaid).

Pom Pom Throw Pillow

Target Dollar Spot Find: Velvet Circle Throw Pillow

I’ve shared before that I am a sucker for throw pillows and this one is such great quality for the price. When I got it home and on the couch, I loved the shape but felt like it could definitely use some pops of color so I decided to add pom poms around the outside. I used the second largest pom pom maker from this pom pom maker set and I hand sewed each pom pom to the pillow using a good ole needle and thread. Fair warning, any project involving pom pom making and sewing does take some tedious time but I always love the outcome!

Smiley Face Wall Decor

Target Dollar Spot Find: Rattan Mirror & Macreme Mirror

If you have been following me on instagram, you can probably tell by now that I am obsessed with the smiley face trend. For this project, I simple cut smiley faces out of paper using my Cricut and glued them to the front of each of the mirrors. I used 4 mirrors total and hung them up spaced out around a wooden peace sign to create a fun little accent wall for my kid’s playroom.

Happy Face Coasters

Target Dollar Spot Find: 3 Pack Ceramic Coasters

Surprise, surprise, another smiley face DIY. I was walking into Target to grab some clay to make Amanda’s clay smiley face coasters & of course I felt like I hit the jack pot when I saw the 3 pack of ceramic coasters in the dollar spot that were absolutely perfect for this project. I simply painted the coasters with acrylic paint, cut out smiley faces onto permanent vinyl with my Cricut, applied the vinyl to the coasters and then finished them off with a coat of matte mod pod to seal them.

My inspiration for the smiley coasters came from Amanda (@woodenthatbesomethin).

Rattan Book Shelves

Target Dollar Spot Find: Rattan Shelf

Saving the best for last with these rattan book shelves. I have had some metal ledge book shelves up in my kid’s playroom since we moved in 3 years ago and they turned out not being as functional as I hoped. Every time the kids went to grab a book, all the books on the shelf came tumbling down on top of them. When I saw these rattan shelves at Target I was hopeful they would somehow make my current bookshelves more functional & of course cuter, because, well it’s rattan. To my surprise when I got them home, two of the rattan shelves put together fit PERFECTLY into my current book shelves. Just snug enough so I could fit them inside the ledge without having to cut or even glue them, making this not only a functional and cute addition, but also the easiest DIY I have ever done. The metal ledge shelves that I have are out of stock but these are very similar and affordable option from Ikea.

I seriously love every single one of these DIYs but if I had to choose one I think it would have to be the rattan shelves for both their functionality and cuteness. Now it’s your turn, I’d love to hear your favorite DIY in the comments below! Thanks so much for reading, I appreciate all your love and support!
